The global ERP talent shortage is not a headcount problem. There is a gap in enterprise-ready expertise. The Frappe Club at the African Leadership University (ALU) in Kigali, Rwanda, bridges this by leveraging a student body from 44+ nations to build a pre-professional incubator. We move students beyond basic tutorials and into high-stakes consulting by merging Software Engineering and Entrepreneurial Leadership into a duo delivery model.

We operate through two specialized tracks that mirror a real-world product team:

The Dapo Track (Engineers): Focused on backend architecture and custom app development within the Frappe Framework.

The Tulio Track (Implementers): Focused on business process mapping and ERPNext functional implementation.

The Student Impact

Our model prioritizes purpose-driven learning, as students can experiment with their own projects and also get paid internships. To date, we have secured part-time placements for our top 5 performers in global firms and managed over 6 live deployments. It’s a blueprint for university-led communities to deliver enterprise-grade solutions while building long-term capacity for the global Frappe ecosystem.
