Frappe's Education app gives you the nouns of a school : students, programs, fees, assessments. But running an actual school chain day-to-day needs the verbs: chasing unmarked attendance at 4 PM, sending 5,000 messages to parents at 11 PM, and observing teachers in classrooms to actually measure quality.
This talk walks through edu_quality, a production school-management app built on Frappe that runs Walnut School's campuses: 165 DocTypes, 20+ scheduled automations, four parallel assessment frameworks, a fee engine with installments/deposits/late-fee automation, and three React frontends on frappe-react-sdk. We'll compare it feature-by-feature with stock Frappe Education, show which extension patterns worked (and which custom fields we regret), and distill what a school actually needs from an ERP that no records-centric data model anticipates.
